CNN - How world leaders travel: Boeing's latest mile-high luxury

    Wow...quite the modifications! :)

While marketed to business use, I cannot help but wonder how many can really afford it!? I'd speculate that some of the more refined aspects could carry over to F/J cabins someday...so long as it makes $$ for the airlines.
    :)

I think there is a typo in the end of the article- it says the additional modifications cost only $500,000? Perhaps it is missing a zero?

I have seen private aircraft (767 and 747) being fiitted with anti-aircraft air-to-air missles. The cost was more than the airplane.

And which aircraft model are they actually talking about? The story seems to be switching back and forth between the 787-8 and the 747-8. Where's the upper deck on the 787-8?

Really? Not just missile defense systems (flares, etc)? I cannot imagine that the FAA would let a private aircraft fly around with air-to-air missiles in US air space, and the same is probably true for most other countries.

Well if they are putting an upper deck on an 787-8 it would certainly be a big mod :)

I cannot imagine either how or why or anything else in regards to this. Strange people.
