My wife and I are flying to Montego Bay, Jamaica on November 8-15. We booked flights on AA using miles (I'm ExecPlat).

AA.com currently shows availability of 1st class seats with an AAnytime award for 60k miles one-way. They also offer reduced 1st class tickets for 30k miles (MileSAAver) one-way but are not showing availability on those right now.

Is there any way to track and see if the 30k first class seats open up? I've never really used ExpertFlyer, so I wasn't sure if that was an option there, or there was another way to do it.

I second this suggestion. I think I'm on my third year of EF premium subscription and among it's many uses this kind of scenario has worked well for me. It's very easy to use and I've found it to be highly reliable. Moving to a milesaver and saving tens of thousands of miles easily "covers" the yearly subscription.

There's a discount code available if you sign up for Milepoint premium too.
