    Hi there,

I have to do somewhat of a last minute trip from IAH to HKG in 10 days, and was wondering if there was a way to maximize the number of miles I get. I'm currently a silver with continental, and don't have status with other airlines so I can't do any status challenges.

I know Delta is running a double mile promotion from detroit to HKG, but i'd rather fly Star Alliance if possible bc thats where all my current miles are.

Do you guys have any advice on how I can maximize the mile earn since I have to go there anyways?

    Thanks!

If you do fly DL, you could also credit the miles to Alaska, but you might not get the double miles then. (Check the T & C, if you can find the details, for the DL promo, which does not double status miles.)

Since you're already *A and are going on a longish flight, you might consider devoting one or two flights to the Aegean Miles&Bonus program. 20k miles flown will give you *A Gold status. Depending on where you are now in Silver, it might get you there faster

Depends what he cares about more. If he wants upgrades on domestic flights then CO/UA is the way to go for obvious reasons when it comes to *A. If he wants *G status due to lounge access and priority security/check-in then Aegean is the way to go.

On A3 you just need to fly 3k for Silver and 19k for Gold. 1k is the signup bonus you already get :)
