How to go about changing from an INK Bold Mastercard to an Ink Bold Visa?

So back in mid september when the blogs came out with the info that the Ink products were changing to Visas there was a lot of talk about whether a visa would be viewed as a different product, i.e. allowing people to get a bonus. Maybe I have missed it but has anyone confirmed this? I'd like to do my churn today and have a year old Ink Bold MC. My plan was to get an Ink Plus until about a month ago. So...

Do I cancel my Ink Bold MC, then immediately apply for a Ink Bold Visa?
Do I apply for the Ink Bold Visa, and then when I have to call in, I explain to the agent that I want the Visa version because I shop at a store that doesn't accept MC?
Or do I do my original plan of going for the Ink Plus, and then next year try to go back to a Ink Bold Visa?

    Thoughts?

I would not cancel the Mastercard; wait until your card expires.

You might be able to apply for the visa version and get the signup bonus points because it's a different product.
