How to get the 472 Aegean miles I need for Star Alliance Gold?

I find myself 472 miles short of the 20K miles I need in A3's MilesAndBonus program to make Star Alliance Gold.

I assume I'll have to fly someone, somewhere to get these miles.

The only travel I have currently scheduled is a seven-segment award trip this summer on AC / EVA / TG. I'll list my A3 number on all flights (to get my lowly Star Silver benefits). Any chance one of these segments might accidentally credit miles?

Does anyone know any clever way to get those 472 miles without having to make a special flight to do so?

    Status miles generally requires flying.

Which begs the question - if you aren't flying enough to manage one of the easiest statuses out there, will you get to use the benefits?

I think so. It's hard to imagine that I won't get significant value out of the Star Gold baggage allowance alone during my lifetime. The A3 status, while still easy, is less so now that it's hard to find 100% credit flights.

Have you checked whether your fare classes on this ticket earn A3 miles?

Are there any award fare classes that earn miles on A3? ;)

(I initially missed the word "award" (despite being italicized), too)

I'd be especially surprised if any of them intentionally earned A3 miles as it's an award ticket. I'd love it if some had experience with, for instance, TG award flights booked at United leading to A3 earning possibilities, but I imagine that's a bit much to hope for.

It seems you are assuming A3 status lasts a lifetime. While currently there is no requalification requirement I do not expect this will last long.

Any United flight W fare or higher credits 500 miles minimum to A3.

It's lasted quite a while so far and while that's certainly no guarantee it will last quite a while still, I don't particularly see any reason for it to change in the short term. (Unless they see a large influx of people from United's changes). What makes you say it's likely to change in the short term?

I didn't say I expected change in the short term, just I can't see it lasting.

A3 has too many elites who never fly with the airline which cost them money for lounge access.

to my knowledge, flying on a star alliance flight and crediting to Aegean should be the only way to accrue the status qualifying mileage though from Aegean website, there are a variety of ways to earn miles :

You can earn miles on your Miles&Bonus account in a variety of ways:
it may be useful to scroll the Aegean website further to confirm that other than flying the points earned do not contribute to status..

Thanks. I checked out the most interesting one (Hertz) and it's redeemable only, as expected.

Any flight that isn't N bucket on UA credits minimum of 500 miles, assuming you're not buying P fares.
