Can I use my GE Card to get back into the US if I won't have my passport (I will have it to enter Canada from the US, but I need to fedex it to the US to get a Visa)?

If not GE, should I apply for Nexus now and hope I get it in the next week before I go to Canada and I can use that?

    Help!

  2. YES if the GE card is similar to nexus then no passport is needed. I also believe, subject to confirmation by others, that US citizens may not need passports to re-enter the US just some government issued ID.

A passport is indeed needed. Regardless of Nexus/GE, the GAs will check your passports upon boarding. They will also be calling your name to verify your passport before boarding.
