Pulled up to the hotel you are staying at and realized you stayed there before? (without realizing at the time you booked the most current trip that you had stayed there before)

At least 3 times this year I have done this. I guess I should keep track of the spots I liked enough to go back to. It does make me feel better that since I pick the hotels based on reviews, price and location - if I make the same hotel choice on different trips without realizing it...then I will probably have a good stay again!

I'll also have to go with the "never" option.

ETA: So the next night, the SO and I are using a restaurant.com certificate at a restaurant at the Holiday Inn (a few bucks for shared fried mushrooms, ribs, and steak). After describing when I had stayed at the hotel in the past, we walk for a while and she eventually adds "oh wait, I really have stayed here" ...

Also never for me. I almost always remember each hotel I've stayed in.

That happens to me a lot... wake up in the middle of the night not knowing where the bathroom went. :)

I'm also going to say never. I'm picky about where I stay, so will normally deliberately choose a hotel I've stayed in before.

How about not remembering what city you're in for a few moments, but instantly recognizing the hotel brand by the furnishings?:D

Aloft is instantly recognizable :) I'll hear a loud noise and think it's my dog and then be confused as hell as to where I am and then realize I'm in a hotel. What city I'm in takes a few more seconds usually. I guess that's happens wen you spend 200+ nts/year on the road.

This normally happens to me when I arrive at night, when I wake up the next morning, it will usually take a few extra seconds to remember which city I'm in. :)

Lately I can't remember my room number and/or also turn the wrong direction off the elevator each evening. I am however glad I can find the bathroom in the middle of the nite ;-)

Sometimes after returning to a hotel from dinner I get off on the wrong floor headed to the room (#) of the hotel I stayed the night before. I have also spent several extra minutes in hotel parking lots trying to remember what kind of rental car I have (and then just hitting the panic button of the remote ). Not sure if I'm traveling too much, drinking too much or some combination thereof.
