Hi, i was wondering how much money it takes to travel, for example from Spain to Norway on your own car? Feels like it hella expensive...

    Welcome.

I think we'll need more information before answering... and then, it will still be just a gut-feeling.

What do you mean by "on your own car"? Do you mean by yourself in a rental car, or do you have a car there that you can use?

What is your "hotel" standard? Do you like roughing it in hostels, need name-brand hotels, or luxury?

Take the train. Rent a car here or there. Train's the way to go.

STATravel has rail passes. Enterprise has discounts. But train it most of the way. Many of the cities you want to see... Italy , France so on, you don't need a car.

One benefit of the car though is you can stay out in the country in Italy. Agriturismo.it ... booking.com/agriturismo... The little towns like Pienza, Montepulciano, etc are the best. Shop at the coop... like the Italians do.

That's what I did and took the train in to Rome. Only thing I needed was Tim card (European Tmobile) for my iphone and I had everything I needed.

"if" you're even going to Italy. I'm sure France is a lot alike. Haven't been .

The difference between car and train is that of hidden costs. Recently went visiting an old school friend in Netherlands. It's a pretty town, bus+train from amsterdam to his place under €10. Parking alone for 8 hours in his town would have been €34~. Gas in most of Europe is more expensive than US.

Given that you have provided little by the way of information, can't be of more help.

That local raccoon also smelled mischief when he saw that the OP created an account, posted 10 more or less meaningless posts over the course of 11 minutes (some in ancient lengthy threads that he couldn't possibly have read in that time), and then disappeared.

    :)

Why someone would do that? What's the gain?

    Cheers & Safe Travels. :)

Beats me. How many posts does it take to be allowed to post a link?

No gain. Some folks aren't playing with a full deck.

Also, don't know if you're aware but the mere fact that you read things here etc, you're a bit more attentive than your average bear.

That's why stuff devolves into silly arguments over Real Politik.

My personal opinion: Unless you've got a corporate gig and a budget ( whereby some 3rd party corp is paying the freight) getting involved in this game, right here, right now , is a stone cold loser no matter which way you shake it.

Just in lodging costs, you'd be busters within a few months of trying to develop a coherent strategy unless you try the thingy whats his name did and give up a residence and live out of hotels.

That takes a dedication beyond normal sanity . LOL

Well, reading @HaveMilesWillTravel comment, I peeked at OP's history.
I have to say at least the random posts were relevant to the thread.
Have seem see posts that are totally OT so this is not a bot.
OP has an essay writing online service which he offered another forum

I think all depends on your goals and money. I like to travel by plane and by car. Recently I went to Rome by plane, and I bought tickets on https://www.iflyfirstclass.com/city/to-rome-fco But in Europe I prefer travel by rental car. It is cozy and not expensive. From my own experience I can say that I need about 600-1000$ for traveling. I think it is enough for nice trip.
