    Facebook, myspace, LinkedIn....

Just wondering how many is too many?

I have accounts for all three, but only use the bookend ones.

Also, as one of my friends said about my accounts and the people in them, "I don't like them to mix together!"

I have a Twitter account, but only read announcements from companies and organizations - I have yet to tweet.

I don't, and won't, have a Facebook account - I won't even allow the site to be brought up on my personal laptop. FB's uber-intrusive tracking (attempts to track) of your Web movements, and inadequate data security protection leave me wary of the site. In addition, I've reading this book right now:

and although I'm only in the second chapter, I feel even more strongly about keeping my life FB-free.

None - left FB 2 years ago over privacy concerns.

I don't consider LinkedIn to be 'social'.

    Just this one.

I have a Facebook account that is used for TopGuest Checkins only. I have no friends on FB so I would not be considered very social.

Facebook for social stuff and LinkedIn for business stuff. I have a Twitter account too, but rarely tweet. I mostly use it to follow friends, news, etc.

    Let's see:

Facebook - use daily, easiest way to keep in touch with friends while traveling
Linked In - use mostly to keep up with a multitude of colleagues from the company I worked in for 10 years - I probably log in every 2-4 weeks
Yelp - not really a social network, per se, but with some of the community functions, it can feel that way, especially with check-in features

    One's I've abandoned:

Twitter - haven't used in about a year... I'm not really sure what it's purpose is anymore
MySpace - committed "MySpace suicide" about two years ago... not even sure why that site still exists except to cater to people who are obsessed with glitter graphics
FourSquare - "discovered" it when they debuted at SXSW two years ago... these days, that's about the only place I use it just because they always have cool SXSW only badges you can earn
blogging (various platforms) - I'm not really interested in sharing that much of my life with people I don't already know... and I have no commercial need to do it anymore

I was a heavy social media user when we launched our manufacturing/distribution company as that was a critical marketing tool. But now that I'm back to being in a single industry, the applicability to my life and clientele is nil.

Facebook only used to have a MySpace and Twitter, but decided FB was the only social networking I needed to stay in contact with people I don't see on a regular basis.

I use Facebook and LinkedIn pretty extensively. Mostly the typical personal/business split althougth it's not a clear division. Just try to never post anything I wouldn't want my grandmother to see, so it's not a big deal.

Use Twitter primarily for providing cheerleading information to the people that follow me. Much easier than adding tons of people on a text message.

I have accounts at 3 but visit only one of them about once a week. Don't really enjoy them, even LinkedIn.

facebook constantly. twitter one and off. closed myspace a few years ago. i find it ironic you can login to myspace with your facebook account.
i use foursquare regularly, but only friend people I know IRL.

I use facebook and livejournal. The former is useful for keeping up on gossip in my home town, hence cutting down the length of phone conversations with my mother. The latter actually has actual interesting content. I also have a dreamwidth account in case livejournal gets too irritating, and I do read a few folks there.

Facebook on occasion. I have no pics or much info there. I mainly have it so I can keep up with people in my HS, college & grad school. Dating myself a bit, grad school was over 25 yrs ago.

I'm only 24, but rarely use Facebook (check in once/twice a week, rarely post anything). I have a LinkedIn for networking (read, rarely used), and Twitter for news. I have a few real social networks that I do frequent!

Two on FB, one personal and one page for my art work.
    Linked in.

Do forums, like FT and MP count as social networking? If so, I have 4 or 5 others.
    How about listservs?
