I'll start - QF J already. LH J already booked.
QF - totally awesome. LH I've heard not to expect much.

EK in Y. Had row 66 which is back of the smaller cabin. Still had full recline. Although near the bathroom, there was no smell on the flight. Quite roomy and comfortable. Very pleasant flight.

SQ in biz, so very long ago. How long has it been since it started? Almost 3 years? More recently two flights in EK F which is awesome. Took my first shower at 40,000 feet. [IMG]

EK in Y and J (JFK-DXB-JFK and DXB-LHR-DXB). In my view the bar onboard is a masterstroke. Great place to hang out. Not totally convinced of the J seat and layout - but it works.

SQ in J (SIN-MEL) - SQ have the best J seats in my view.

About do do my first ever A380 on EK Y (EK413) AKL-SYD. Never tried A380 before.

Look forward to try SQ A380 sometime in the future as I have been collecting KF miles for redemption. Too bad QF does not fly SYD-HKG on A380 otherwise I would have try that too.

SQ, AF and QF all in Y.

All solid experiences but the AF LHR-CDG round trip stands out as a very novel experience. It felt like a dedicated charter flight for plane spotters given the number of photos that were being taken on-board.

I'm a fan of the mini-Y cabin on the upper deck that SQ and AF have installed too.

  12. NONE - and I intend to keep it that way for some time to come. Call me paranoid, but the engineer in me will keep me off an A380 for many years to come.

    AF C I loved it!
QF F I loved it more

These are the quietest smoothest most delightful birds to fly IME. I am a major fan and will pay extra to fly them. The engineer in me is mightily impressed.

I haven't tried AF's 380 yet, but I may soon. But is it really any better than a 777? The seats are exactly the same so what's the difference?

I have a trip coming up to JNB and AF is a bit more expensive in C than KL. I really don't see a major difference.
