How does 'lead' passenger get assigned on a ticketed itin?

    Recently booked an international trip with two other persons.
    Since the others are MP members but have no status, I offered to book the flight so that they could get E+ seating.
    When making the reservations, I gave my info as passenger one, and the others as two and three respectively.
    However, in all cases passenger 3 has received all related email confirmations (e-ticket, receipt, and upgrade confirmation) but I have not received any emails.
    I never provided passenger there's email, so system must be using the email on MP profile.

    I called 1k desk to make sure my email was on itinerary, and agent confirmed all was normal.

    But now en-route I do not receive any messages or any text messages about flight status.

    Any ideas what might have happened?
    Should I have done something different when booking?
