On average I spend 3 days every 3 weeks in the same Garden Inn and have done so for about 3 yrs. I love the location and the people working there, but not a huge fan of the beds and overall amenities. I recently discovered a Homewood Suites in the same town that has a slightly less favorable location, but much better bed's, amenities. They've been very nice and accommodating and they obviously want my business in 2012. I'd like to start staying there, but I feel like I'm almost cheating on the HGI people. So, do I just never go back; explain the situation to the HGI management; split my stays (increasing my stay count ftw); other? Never ran into this and would appreciate some opinions.

If you are friendly terms with the people working there (including management?) why not explain the situation just as you posted here?
I think that they would appreciate the honest feedback.
    I know that I would.;)

If you stay with them that often, they might even buy a new bed for your room.
    ;)

I have to agree with alohastephen. If you do stay with them quite frequently then I'm sure they wouldn't mind buying you a bed for a room that would give you priority. I'm sure the ROI on one bed will be very good. ;)

I hadn't considered them putting a new bed in, but I think the good karma/business thing is to speak with the gm which I know.

That indeed is the best way to approach this. Tell us how things go :)

Depends on whether its a discussion you want to have, right? There are things my girlfriend doesn't need to know (very few) because she'll just get upset over nothing. She doesn't want to know that the guys and I watch Plaguers during poker night when she's not around (worst movie ever, but it has sexy space pirate zombie nurses). But when it's important, I have the hardest time dragging out of her what it is that's made her upset. And usually it's trivial and easy to fix so she's happy again. My advice: contact the GM so even if he can't change anything, he knows why you're leaving.

I echo everyone's suggestion, you should definitely talk to the GM. I'm sure given your stay history and the fact that you know the GM personally, you'll be able to work something out with them :) good luck!

Turns out they're not that sexy. Zombie Strippers might be a better pick, though Plaguers will at least give you something to heckle.

Is it the Homewood owned by the same people, if so you aren't cheating the owners and might get better service by following some of the advice others have given.
