    the old .bomb used to have the expert mode and you could float the cursor pointer over the flight details to show you the fare buckets...i noticed since they changed their fare buckets a bit and the website changed that function is still there but doesnt show any of the new award fare buckets....am i missing something?

    I am trying to find F award on a redeye SAN-EWR-BUF in december and all buckets showing 9 but none are awards. CO search page yields the easypass and saver pass Y but only the big 50k highpriced F avail.

    any tips?

    Shouldn't this be in the CO/UA forum?

    You can find the fare buckets on an award search in expert mode. it's more useful for finding upgrade space. If you are searching for award space, use CO's tool. Then if you really want to book on .bomb, go back and it should be there, too. But CO has a better calendar function.

    I have seen an intermittent problem where when you do an award search on united.com while in expert mode and look at a flight's "details", it shows you regular fare class availability but not award/upgrade fare class availability. It's really supposed to show you award availability. The problem tends to go away when I try again or a few minutes later.

    The situation is something like:
    continental.com:
    SHOWING AVAILABILITY NUMBERS:
    revenue search engine shows revenue & award & upgrade availability numbers for CO flights;
    revenue search engine shows revenue availability only for UA flights;
    award search engine does not show award & upgrade availability numbers for any flights
    ACTUALLY FINDING AWARD SPACE
    award search engine finds lots of flights on many, but not all, partners;

    united.com:
    SHOWING AVAILABILITY NUMBERS
    revenue search engine shows revenue availability only for UA and CO flights;
    award search engine shows revenue & award & upgrade numbers for UA and CO flights;

    ACTUALLY FINDING AWARD SPACE
    award search engine misses lots of flights on partners and can only handle round-trip searches on the partners it does see

    I mostly use continental.com. Solves a lot of the issues. :D

    If looking for premium cabin partner awards try both logged in and not as there are some bugs in the system. Also don't pay too much attention to the calendar at the top of the page; rather scroll down on the dates you care about to make sure what is or is not available.

    But it is way better than what UA offers in general.

    The ANA tool is great but has some conditions - you have to join their mileage club and have some miles in your ANA account. You might still be able to get around the miles in account requirement with some workarounds but I have not tried that in some time...

    Both the GreaseMonkey and GMP-HND search workarounds still work.

    But that just lets you search for inventory, not book using UA/CO miles.

    Yep, I used it to check availability so when I go back to .bomb or call reservations I have an idea of my options should be.
