The Houston Airport System, Houston city officials and U.S. Customs and Border Protection are expected to announce on Feb. 20 the opening of a new satellite enrollment center for international travelers looking to go through CBP at a faster rate.

The Global Entry office will allow international travelers to apply for CBP’s “Trusted Traveler Program,” which gives approved travelers access to expedited CBP clearance when they enter the U.S. According to the program’s website, travelers interested in the program must submit an application and a nonrefundable payment during the first step of the enrollment process. Then, if the application is approved, CBP will conduct an interview with the applicant.

Travelers eligible to apply include: U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents, Mexican nationals, Canadians, Dutch nationals and South Korean nationals.

The Houston Airport System has used the Global Entry program since 2008, and it has a Global Entry office in the George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
