The guy seems to have a knack for the sugar daddy theme (which all his other dating sites fit, just by another name). Not surprising he married a woman he found there. But if they're happy...

I am pretty sure there was another site before with similar idea, where you "empowered" girls to travel around the world with you.

Can't wait to see advertisements for this: "Travel the world on your back!"

Maybe I should go to bars with my AwardWallet balances printed out.

A buddy of mine told me that his friend used to check receipts that were left at ATM machines and if he found one with a pretty big balance, he'd hold onto it. Then at the bars, he'd use that ATM receipt to write his number down on to give to the ladies. He said his call back ratio was darn near 100%. :D

Browsed it a bit out of curiosity; it seems like it is trying to be both "I'll pay for someone to travel with me" and a sleazier operation, with "rewards" and such. But, being an out-of-it sort anyway, for all I know that isn't sleazy.

There are legit sites for people who are just looking for someone to travel with, right?

    What's next- WillBangForTravel or TravelHookers?
Ridiculous... No money is changing hands but if your trip is being payed for then in my opinion it's the same thing.
Wait until one of these "attractive travelers" is raped or killed by a "generous traveler".

Thanks for sharing. This was a very G rated experience because it was set up that way. However, I think the founder of the site has very different intentions for the actual experience he's trying to create.

I'm more interested in seeing whether a more regular person from the MP/FT community will utilize their mile/point bank account to be the "Generous" party. You know, someone who makes an average salary but has a sick mile/point balance from credit card churns, mattress runs, promotions and "mistake fares" in order to fund travel. It'd be more of a social experiment to see if the "Attractive" parties on this site are just looking for someone to travel with (and can fund it in any) or a sugar daddy who makes $1+million/yr.

I've used travbuddy before. No pretense of anyone paying for someone else, so don't have to worry about expectations. I am sure there are more.

Interesting to hear someone's experience, but the explanation from the fella seems a little fishy, there are other sites that help travelers meet without talking about one's income or promising to support someone else's travel. Besides, having brunch is not quite what the site advertises to be about. Now if she actually traveled on someone's dime/mile, then I would consider it a review of what the site is truly trying to offer.

Although I think that's pretty much what the site is, I don't think there is any more inherent threat than any other activity set up with strangers while traveling.

I'm guessing these ladies wouldn't respond well to a suggestion of going Dutch? You know, JUST to keep the relationship from moving too fast. :D

I dunno. That's like me saying I tried out the new Porsche when I really just went down to the dealership, sat in the passenger seat in the show room to get a whiff of the new-car smell, and then went home with a brochure. I totally understand why the blogger did what she did (and not more), but it didn't actually involve any free traveling in exchange for being attractive.

Isn't there a site for that already? I think it's called Facebook or something like that.

Yeah, but all of the 20 year old hotties willing to travel with you on there are actual 50-something guys in their undies posting stock photos*.

(*At least, that's what I've heard.)

Is that a stock photo in your avatar? ;)

Actually, what I was thinking of was Craigslist, not Facebook... though I am sure FB has been the starting point for rape and murder, too. Just like AOL, bars, hotel lobbies....

I think you are referring to Craig's List. Not sure of any issues on FB although I wouldn't be surprised if there has been.
Not sure of your point- look at your MP avatar? Is that you? :)

Edit: HaveMiles- I see your post regarding Craig's List

Yes, see that was the point. (see my reply)

Edit: More specifically, it was a joke based on assumptions around anonymity on the Interwebs.

I hear ya! On any message board whether it be Facebook, Milepoint, Craig's list, you never really know...

I have to amend my comment. The one place online where I do know who I am chatting with is on Facebook.
