To attract customers, hotels are getting into the brewing business by promoting craft beer or working with local breweries to have their own beers made. For example, Four Fairmont hotels have partnered with breweries to create their own microbrews. The Four Points by Sheraton at LAX are pursuing the brewing business seriously by recently appointing a new director of brewer relations, created a beer advisory board, has customized in-room beer fridges. Other hotel chains such as Starwood are hosting “social hours” where guests will be offered high-end wine tastings and local brews. Four Seasons, Sheraton Hotels and Resorts, and Kimpton’s Hotel Solamar in San Diego are also getting into the brewing business. Let us know if craft beers are influencing your decision on hotel accommodations!

The type of beer is VERY low on my list of priorities.
