I've tried searching the forums, but no luck....I''m sitting with HHonors Silver. Just curious if any other programs will match it and if so, where do I look?

HH Silver is a bit low for matching... you should think about doing a challenge with HH for Gold, or a challenge with Hyatt or Starwood... especially if you have some travel planned in next months... Marriott no longer offer challenges (or it does, is rather unclear at the moment)...

What level at Hyatt do you think would be equivalent to HH Gold? It couldn't be Hyatt Gold, since it's their lowest, right? Would it be appropriate to ask them for a match to Platinum perhaps?

Don't think Hyatt does match, only challenges. I could be wrong.

    You are correct. As usual.:)

M7VO would have to do a challenge or acquire the Chase Hyatt Visa to get status.

Compared to Marriott, HH is easy to get status. 30 nights = HH Diamond versus 75 nights = MR Platinum. Can you do some mattress-hopping if you're staying more than one night in a town?

HH Diamond is 60 night, 30 stays or 120k HH base points... not so easy
But award nights do count toward status...

Quite a lot... you can do 25 hops and become Hyatt Diamond...

Regretably... same also at SPG... but not also at HH or Marriott (if they decide to re-invent challenges)...

Yes, I did that this past January... but it is demanding... 21 paid nights in 3 months... and it is reported that this challenge can be repeated some time later...

Hyatt Diamond is no longer once in a lifetime. At least for now this requirement is relaxed.

    Concur. What's your goal here?

Is it worthwhile to get a credit card for status? (Two choices with Hilton, both giving you Gold, which gets you net, lounge, and breakfast; Hyatt Visa giving you Platinum, which gives you free net.) If you have UA status, pay attention to the new Marriott partnership.

There isn't a direct equivalence, though HGP Diamond is probably closer than HGP Platinum. I have both HH Gold and HGP Diamond, and HGP Diamond is a much more luxe status.

HH has three elite tiers: Silver (4 stays, 10 nights), Gold (20/40), and Diamond (30/60).
Hyatt has only two: Platinum (5/15) and Diamond (25/50).

HH gives free net, lounge access sometimes, and breakfast at Gold. HH Diamond always gets lounge access. Gold is available through credit cards.

Hyatt gives free net at Platinum and breakfast/lounge at Diamond. Platinum is available just for having the credit card. Keep in mind that Hyatt has far fewer properties than Hilton, so it can be trickier to get the nights/stays in. Diamond gets get more perks, too, like welcome amenities and guaranteed suite upgrades.

If they did matches at all, I would expect Hyatt to match HH Gold to HGP Platinum.

But there surely must be certain period between two challenges?

Correct. At this moment they allow it once a year (T&C states once per offer, where 'offer' means e.g. 2013 challenge program, so you cannot participate for 2013 two times, but can enroll in, say, 2014 offer).

And prorably you cannot do challenge for Diamond while you are still Diamond :)
