On our brief visit to Chicago, my brother and I decided to stay at the Radisson O'Hare.
I rarely stay at airport hotels but decided to do so for a couple of reasons.
    1. The early start of the O'Hare 5K runway run
    2. The Radisson 1 for 1 promotion
With the Radisson promotion my brother and I each earned one free night for booking a night. To make this offer work for both of us, we each booked one night of the stay.
(Check out my Chicago trip planning post HERE)

My first impression of the Radisson O'Hare (from the exterior) was that it looked old, shabby and dated. It actually reminded me of the Alamo just not as cool. However looks are not so important as long as the room is decent. Overall we were happy with our stay due to it suiting our needs for the visit. We didn't use the common spaces in the hotel but there was a sitting area and small bar.

During our stay we had to switch rooms due to a little issue. The hotel handled our problem professionally and we were happy with our stay. Besides resolving our issue, there was another positiveto switching rooms- No Sleep Number Beds!!! The negative to switching was the ridiculously long walk to get to our room.

We booked a room with two double beds which cost $98.31 per night (including tax).
The original price was in the $130 range but thanks to a code we found our rate was lowered a bit. The room was a pretty good size and the beds were very comfortable.

The bathroom was a decent size, probably average for this type of hotel. It was clean and the shower had good water pressure. A problem I found was that it was hard to adjust the shower to a comfortable temperature.

The bathroom in the first room had a nice selection of bath products. I think this was due to our gold status with Club Carlson. In our next room the setup wasn't as nice.

The room also had a good size, flat screen TV. We never had a chance to turn it on due to being so busy during our visit to Chicago. There was also a work area which I did not get a chance to use.

My brother and I each received an In-Room Welcome Gift (also a perk of Gold status).
During stays at other Club Carlson properties I failed to receive my welcome gift but at the Radisson O'Hare it was waiting in the room. The gift was very nice. It was a bag filled with some candy, chips, nutri-grain bar and bottle of water.

Overall our stay at the Radisson O'Hare was a positive one. It wasn't the most amazing place that I've ever stayed but it worked out well for our short visit.

I have found Radisson properties to be pretty good abroad, but relatively hit-or-miss in the US.

They are definitely hit or miss! The promos make them so tempting to stay at! :)

I've stayed at this hotel several times and it is far from the best but not bad and one of the better plane watching hotels I've been to. There must be a plane low overhead on approach every minute or more all day.
