    Big thumbs down to hotel chains that do this. It makes me wonder what is worse, injecting code into the browsing experience or some of the ludicrous fees to use hotel wifi.

    Hmm. Wouldn't something like AdBlock make this obsolete? Also, don't you think the blogger in question is probably most pissed off about eyeballs seeing ads on his site that he isn't getting paid for more than anything else?

    this may explain a lot of ads that suddenly appear when I'm at hotels, wondered how thwy did it and it is VERY annoying. the stranegest ones were lots of ads for single women when I was at a respectable hotel (I thought) in Spain!

    LOL I thought it was just me...though in my case it's been ads for single women in Asia. :). Though actually, they're targeting ads based on your DNS location, not really being insidious in this case.

    He needs to get out more. It's not that uncommon; for the most glaringly obvious example, try using the free WiFi at DEN.

    IIRC the ads in Spain were for Asian women:oops: I just didnt get it until now.
