Hong Kong listed in Top 10 places to spend Christmas

  1. Hong Kong has made it into CNN Travel’s listing as one of the top 10 places to spend Christmas.Hong Kong is the only place in the whole of Asia that is ranked top 10 in the world to spend Christmas! Whooohoo!
    With only two weeks left till Christmas Holiday seasons kicks into full blow, you might have noticed the fancy Christmas lights along the Victoria Harbour Skyline. There’s a huge crystal Christmas tree in Central this year and holiday sentiments are generally being felt in a Hong Kong style – basically meaning crazy sales malls and shopping centers that you should not miss out on.

    People from the industry have pointed out that this year Christmas is really boosting sales all across. Don’t know if anyone has been finding it hard to book rooms because tours and hotels have been pretty booked out for December and January. Christmas is traditionally the peak holiday season for Hong Kong and this year the records are showing more than 3 million unique visitors and counting.

    The global economic climate has generally seen a turn around from the recession and there are various countdown activities around town such as at the Tsim Sha Tsui Clock Tower, Lan Kwai Fong and Times Square that prove to be quite a novel experience if its your first time to Hong Kong or Asia.
    Apart from the Christmas lighting and the glamourous crazy bargains that are a little more bang for the buck compared with other cities in Asia. The Hong Kong dollar and the USD are pegged so the weak dollar makes the exchange rates a little more favourable for tourists to come spend their money.
