just had a one night stay at this property as a positioning hotel for our trip.

    Staff is wonderful, very welcoming.

Free breakfast doesn't have all the items advertised (like bacon or sausage) but does have a lot of fruit, two kinds of eggs, juices, cereal, 3-5 Mexican pastres, and my favorite menu items when in Mexico: chilaquiles and refried beans. We were eary to breakfast but still had to wait behind a rope until two seats opened up, by the time we left breakfast, there must have been 12+ people waiting, so be prepared for a wait if you are a late riser.

Pool is small & is shaded quite a bit, only a handful of lounge chairs so nothing special here.

The hotel does offer a shuttle into town (& back) but only at certain times & only during the day, which is unfortunate as the hotel restaurant only serves breakfast & there are no other restaurants nearby. The walk is easy enough, probably 3/4 mile and while not the liveliest street from downtown, we felt safe walking back to the hotel after dinner in the city center of Playa del Carmen. Beaches are all public in downtown Playa del Carmen so one can enjoy the sun, sand & sea. If you want to take a taxi, they will charge ~50 pesos for a ride into town & 70 on the return.

The room was spartan as expected but clean and comfortable enough, good AC unit! hallways & surrounding rooms can be a bit noisy as everything is tiled and the walls are not that thick.

All in all a very enjoyable stay for a night, perhaps a couple.
