I have no idea where Holiday Inn Express is located, but it's worth staying within walking distance of the downtown in Baden Baden, and there are some good non-branded properties that are not too expensive, such as Hotel am Markt

This hotel is not that nice - remember there is a 3.5 EUR per adult per night tax on top of what you pay. I stayed there in Apr. during PB and my baf was stolen during breakfast (I suspected it's the staff because we sat right cross from the staff room), and the bag was handed over by someone 30km away 3 hours later. Of course all our cash was stolen. The hotel didn't do anything to help us, they even had a CCTV but they refused to do anything about it.

Don't go there with a car because parking is expensive and you don't even guarantee that you get a slot.

I totally agree with you. I never parked in the hotel's parking. I decide to cancel my one night-stay in December. Would surely prefer to stay in IC Frankfurt and enjoy the club lounge, the rate difference being only 20 euros.

I got a slot 3 street behind the hotel where a closed shop was. We parked there for free - the city writes out ticket every day!

For 20 EUR, go for the IC.
