Just recently put an award res on hold for a non-status colleague. This is a domestic itinerary, with one segment on AS metal. Was given a 2-day hold instead of the usual five. Is this a recent change?

I haven't heard of such a change, how far out was the travel being booked for?

I have no AA status and put an award on hold this morning with the normal 5 days. My reservation was a few months out and was all domestic AA metal though.

Departs 10/21 (less than two weeks). For what it's worth, I'm also booked on the same PNR.

Close to departure hold times are shorter.

Ah! Got it. I guess that makes sense.
