I have about about 16 hrs layover in HKG. I would like to head to Macau via ferry. Can someone help with the process? Thanks!

I think the chart describes what you need to do to get to Macau.

    http://www.hongkongairport.com/eng/...and-china/ferry-transfer/ferry-fortchart.html

To get back you move yourself to the ferry terminal at least three hours before your flight. Otherwise you will not be allowed to board the ferry to the airport.

Here is an explanation from HKG.

One problem with this solution is that there are no ferries AFAIK during the night. You can enter Hong Kong through passport control and travel to Central to take ferries/to from there too.

Does the OP specifically want a ferry or a faster hydrofoil?

Take the ferry directly from the airport to Macau. That way you don't need to go through Hong Kong immigration. I just did this a couple of weeks ago and the only real downside is that the ferries are not as frequent. The ferry ticket offices are well signposted at HKG as is the dock.
