I tried searching for an existing thread but search is broken for me at the moment...

I just returned from a trip to Namibia, and we spent one night at each end of the trip at the Hilton Windhoek. I am a "fake" HH Gold (via one of those sign-ups online). I booked both reservations using points.

Our first stay, we were upgraded to a "garden room", which is basically a room that is the same size as all the others, but with a large, private outdoor garden area that doubles the total size of the "room". It would have been lovely to take advantage of, if only we had more time to spend there!

We were given club access on both stays. This was a really nice club, with a very nice spread at breakfast and cocktail hour. It seemed, based on our second stay, that they put the alcohol out early (~1PM) and left it out all day. Good selection at night including 2-3 hot items; you could well make a meal of it if you wanted to. This being Namibia, it was very meat-centric.

All in all, this was a very comfortable hotel. Service was very good, the rooms were very comfortable, and we were treated well. It was a very nice place to start & end our trip, and I'd definitely recommend this property to anyone visiting Windhoek!

Namibia's on my top ten list, so I'll probably stay here when I go.

You are in luck. :) I did post a bit more about our trip in the Africa branch of Destination Travel: http://milepoint.com/forums/threads/first-time-in-africa-help-me-pick-where-i-go.10152/#post-1412476

Cliffs Notes: Namibia is incredibly safe, beautiful, and "awesome" in the true sense of the word. Go. Now. Make sure you spend more time at Etosha than you think you want to.

I am now busily trying to plan our next trip with some central focus /springboard around the Caprivi Strip.
