Be careful in signing up for this one before the first of April, particularly if you're signed up for the 2012 Delta bonus points one right now and change earning styles. I'm going to a wait a bit and switch earnings styles.

    Thanks for the tip!

This is a great offer for stocking up on HH points if one is a Diamond whose "double dipping" earning style is points + points.

If HH is your base point earning for a stay, then you will get with this promo:

    HH (base) + HH (double points promo) + 0.5HH (Diamond bonus) + 0.5HH (points+ points double dipping) = 3HH.

So, off the bat, this is a Triple Your Points offer for the specified Diamond Elite. Now, you add AMEX Booking Bonus, Diamond MyWay Bonus, and any points that you would get by paying the folio with a card that gets extra points/$ (even the standard Hilton AMEX) and you are looking at a mini-jackpot with each stay...

I love this promo than Q1. Since I will be in above $100 hotel in Singapore, this will be good earning those double.

The list of excluded hotels seems to grow larger with each promotion. Soon it would be easier just to list the participating locations.

As other said, not very exciting, but better than nothing.

Highly relative, IMHO...I, personally, find this be to be much more exciting than the expiring Q1 promo or even past free night offers because (a) my stays tend to cost on average $1,500 so that points will add up quickly, and few of the properties in places where I travel ever opt out...

Very true. It is highly relative. Even when I travel for business (which is a rare occasion these days), the stays are short, one to two nights at the most. I prefer a "night/stay based" bonus system. Others with long stays will prefer the "cost based" bonus system.

And also remember to check the [long] list of nonparticipating properties, mostly in the U.S.

If you are mostly a US domestic traveler, it could be frustrating... Intl travelers fare wonderfully because so few overseas properties opt out. For instance, not a single property opted out in Asia :) ...

You analysis shows why it is best to select points and points as an earnings style in the HHonors program. The Hilton AMEX grants 6 points per dollar and the Hilton AMEX Surpass awards 9 points per dollar for spending at Hilton hotels, so Hilton points really do add up. When Hilton runs double or triple points promos, the HHonors points really start accumulating. This is why I strongly recommend Golds and Diamonds to get a Hilton AMEX card and pay for stays at Hilton branded hotels.

Giving this some more thought as I have a potentially sizeable Hilton folio looming. Essentially this promo just gets you an additional 10HH/$, correct? So a Diamond choosing points-and-points and using an AMEX Surpass is going to earn 39HH/$?

    The math seems right: 3HH x10/$ + 9HH/$ = 39HH/$ (instead of 10)

$1,500 eligible for points on a stay will net you 58,500 HH points....

then for me, I usually get 1500 bonus points for AMEX booking and Diamond MyWay setting...

The points for my recent stay at Hilton Melbourne South Wharf just posted and it is a nice take-in thanks to the Q2 promo!

With a comparable stay (rate- and length-wise) booked for Hilton Wangfujing in Beijing next month, i.e., by the end of the Q2 promo, this may turn out to be one of my better quarters ever...:)

Nice haul, but to be fair, most of that was due to spend and Diamond status, rather than 2Q promo.

Everything else I would have gotten regardless, therefore, the net haul in is 24,000 HH points or about 1/3 of total haul. One out of every 3 HH points was due to the promo... I believe that is significant.
