Hilton announced that they are offering 1K points if you change your password between February 19 and March 8 2015.

You can access and change your Hilton PIN here.

The URL has moved because Hilton ITS was not ready to roll out when the word was first put out by the front office. Since then, this correction has been circulated (from Gary Leff's site):

So if I change my password 10x per day for 10 days can I make up for the 100K points I didn't get a few weeks back?

They might think your account's hacked and freeze all the points inside! :)

So I guess someone from Hhonors read our earlier MP post for suggestions :p

Randy needs to send a consultation bill to them on our behalf.

I can accept my share in HHonors points or as qualifying nights towards the Lifetime Platinum? :)

Anyone having trouble updating their password? I get the following message when I try:

    Your changes have been saved.

    Your password was not changed

I consistently get an error page on Hilton when attempting this and can not make the change.

Your best bet would be trying it again some other time. Sometimes the Hilton site throws hiccups and even though it says "your password was not changed", it was, in fact, changed.

The question would then be is the 1,000 points going to post?
Honestly, there has never been official confirmations on this.
Makes me wonder and thus far hesitant to change my PIN to a Password :)
It may be only 1,000 but it's FREE 1,000
Especially since I did not get the 100,000 points
    (Did you? @Sammich)

According to a post today from View From the Wing:

    • Hilton announced everyone would have to change their password by March 25, and would get bonus points for doing so by March 8. But their IT systems turned out not to be prepared for this. Readers keep asking for updates, two weeks later. I asked Hilton, and was told:

Still no update unfortunately. I promise to share any further details once I have them. I do know that they are still working on resolving the issue.

I have been trying since the original posting date with no success. I think I know where UA IT people go when they can't hack it at UA.

I don't get IT people. Really... I mean I am one myself (well, maybe "was" as I'm not as active with writing code these days.). I write bulletproof code that works. But all I see these days is stuff like:

"Enter your social security number without spaces or dashes".
Huh, you, the IT person has no idea how to remove space or dashes?

    "Enter your birthdate as mm/dd/yyyy"
Like you can't figure out mm-dd-yyyy? Or for that matter, is there any ambiguity with something like 032356 or 4291995?

    "Enter quantity desired"
    -3
    (app crashes).

    Sigh.

Generally agree, though the date format can be tricky to interpret. My birthday is 05-02-1999 -- was I born in May or February?

Sure. I always write dates in the format 02-May-1995. When the app will let me!

Is there a US travel (airline or hotel or car rental) company that looks at providing customers a web site the way Amazon does? In other words, how often have you experienced a weird behavior or extended downtime or loss of data or inability to log in on Amazon.com? I have bought a TON of stuff over the last nearly 19 (!) years on Amazon.com and I don't recall a single such glitch. Not one. Never a regularly scheduled downtime on Saturdays. All the travel providers have for years tried to drive us to their websites for bookings (because they don't want to pay commissions), And yet they all have sites that look and feel (and are as reliable) as high school programming assignments.
