The only Hilton in Mumbai is a former Le Meridien property not at but not far away from the International airport. Please note that the Domestic airport (although sharing the same runways) is further away. There is no hotel shuttle to/from the airport but of course the hotel will arrange an (expensive) transport if needed.

I stayed for one night and was upgraded to an Executive room as HHonors Gold. When arriving I was immediately escorted to my room, shown around and explained the hotel facilities. My luggage arrived shortly thereafter, followed by the welcome drink which was some kind of water with honey. There was some fresh fruit in the room and I was told I could ask for some more if they ran out. There were also a couple of complimentary water bottles.

The room felt REALLY old-Fashioned but well kept and I must say I kind of liked it. The bed was extremely comfortable, probably an ex-Le Meridien bed.

The bathroom was old-Fashioned as well but contained both a tub and a walk-in shower. Additionally, the sink was nicely separated from the bathtub. The bathroom amenities were none of the standard Hilton stuff but instead some to me non-descriptive probably local brand. There were two kinds of bath salts in big reclosable plastic jars.

My Room was on (I think) the fifth floor (like in an ES the rooms were circling an atrium) and the Executive lounge was situated on the same floor. There was not much in the lounge except during breakfast and the evening cocktails. During the evening there were two hot options (veggie and chicken), finger sandwiches, cold vegetables, dips, and a nice desert. The liquours were all Indian top brands I was told and I took quite a liking for the dark local rhum.

I was told Hilton is building a new hotel downtown and after it gets ready in maybe four years, they may well close this property down. I don't see why they would want to do that though.
