Interesting news, sad that the main brand Hilton will not anymore represented in Las Vegas, at least for now!

I just made a reservation last night for end of September, sorry to hear this.

At least it will still be a Hilton when I go out there.

I actually booked that property just so I can get hhonors points, plus got a great price.

I don't understand this comment at all. We all know what the Las Vegas Hilton is. We currently have a choice to stay there (and earn Hilton points, stay and night credits), or not. What is the benefit to us of eliminating that choice?

Just noticed the typo ("now longer") in the title. We can't edit thread titles in here, can we?

Name change just in time for CES... I am sure they are thrilled about the uncertainty of what the name of the venue is for many of their sessions. "The Hotel Formerly Known as Hilton", maybe?

Hyatt or Starwood fans would go bonkers if it were rebranded into either of these. I wonder...

That would have to be a HUGE renovation.

Too bad. LVH or the adjacent HGV were great places to stay for CES and other events.

Thanks for the article. Although this may be a loss because it was an affordable option to get hhonors points and have a casino downstairs, it does give them the option of snagging a higher end relationship with TI or heck, why not with a large casino chain like Harrahs or MGM?

I visited this hotel to check out the rooms and the property. It seems fine for mattress runs and quick stay switches between the HGV, but the hotel is located far off the strip and away from the action. I wonder whether Hyatt or SPG might take over the property?

I could see TI since it has independent casino marketing and isn't really tied to other resorts/hotels there, but not Harrahs or MGM. PC and Venetian/Palazzo work because of their independence. The Big Two don't seem to be too keen on "outsiders"

These days, every part of a casino / resort is considered a profit center. Assuming the big boys have the greatest number of unsold rooms, it would seem to make sense to partner up to gain additional revenues.

I'm not sure that the large cockroach in my pool-level "suite" was aware that he died in a building that was about to lose the Hilton name.

The room was cheap, helped my on the Visa Signature three-stay quest, but boy, it was not an overall nice experience.

  20. Stayed there last week, was upgraded to a suite, comp valet, comp breakfast, comp 50.00 in pokies credit and all for the great price of 41.95 per night. Easy to walk to the strip. The breakfast was amazing, was offered tickets to see Nunsense for next to nothing and this was all for being a gold member.

In such moments, we wish that this hotel would stay a Hilton!;)

I stayed there a couple years ago being a gold member and was not offered anything, no upgrade, no comps etc
Actually I think breakfast buffets are free for being gold tho

Glad to hear it will be around for another year. It's not the best but a stay is a stay and when you can get it for under $50 it's great.
