I recently (July 2013) completed a stay at the Hilton Innsbruck Austria. Here are my impressions: 1) The hotel has a very good location close to the old town (centre), the train station, and about 2.5km from the entrance to the main highway systems. 2) Checkin: a queue of one person in front of me- HHonors checkin which had a sign and a person 3) The hotel was recently renovated (I think 2011/2012) and is in good condition. The building is definitely not new but the inside of the hotel is good for a Hilton. 4) Rate: I was booked on an excellent value prepaid rate of 98 EUR including breakfast. The rates vary a lot at this hotel based on time of year, conventions/trade fairs, etc- in general though you can find a good weekend deal here I think. 5) Ambience: This hotel does feel more like a business hotel- it is walking distance to the congress, close to several of the larger offices and government buildings (Innsbruck is not that big of a city), and yet is also very close (a few hundred m) from the old town. 6) Breakfast: Excellent. A very wide selection and high quality with good service. The only suggestion I have is they open earlier (open currently at 0630A) as there was a queue in the morning waiting for the breakfast to open when I was there. 7) Internet: Did not use as I have a high speed mifi which also works well in Austria. I think the cost was quite high for non gold/diamond members (16 EUR per day IIRC)? 8) Lounge: There is a lounge however I was not on a lounge level and did not have time to even go look at it. 9) Checkout: Fast and efficient. 10) Parking: There is parking connected the hotel which is also connected to the Casino (which is nothing special I don't think but then again I don't gamble). The hotel parking is 15 EUR per 24 hour. You can also find parking on the street nearby if you look around- be careful as there are some areas which are for pass-holder (residents) only and they are very vigilant and will check. I was able to park on the street for free with a little bit of time spent to find a spot (5 minutes). Overall rating: Yes I think this is a very good hotel- there are a number of good hotels around- if I was in Innsbruck for work or to see the old town then definitely I would stay either here or at the very nearby Grauer bar (the Gray Bear in English) which has more of an Austrian feel to it and also look/history. If I was skiing I personally would look for something closer to the lifts and with more of an authentic Austrian feel. I think the hotel does a good job and also if you are on a higher floor the views are excellent- keep in mind though that architecturally is not an Austrian look/feel building (it looks from the outside as if it could be a Hilton almost anywhere in the world).
