I know that if you have a AMEX card then all your future cards will have the date of the first AMEX you received as long as you have one active but does this apply to the branded cards? Specifically the Hilton Honors card? I ask because it is a NO FEE card and I thought it would be a good one to throw in the drawer and have forever as I apply for other AMEX cards

Yup. I just pulled out my HHonor Amex and looked at it, and it has the year that I first became an AMEX customer stamped on it.

All three of mine have '00'. That is when I got my Starwood card. However, I did have a green card back in the 80's and that apparently did not count because I cancelled it in the late 80's.

The date on your card doesn't do much for you, your credit report will still show the opening date, the only way to secure that opening date is by changing the card instead of reapplying.
