Looking at booking the Rome Waldorf Astoria with my Hilton points for my parents anniversary. I am Hilton Gold. Are there any point discounts for Gold or higher when using points? By the end of my next churn, I should have about 177k Hilton points to use. It's 50k/nt for a standard room and something like 85k/nt for a delux room. Thanks!!

GLONs are not bookable at WA properties but they do have some (lessor discounted) awards.

Many thanks! If I book the stay for them, will my Gold status appear on their reservation? B/c I know with Gold, you get comp UG is there is room in the inventory.

If the stay is 4 nights or more many Hilton's give a 20% discount for points. The WA Rome may be 40k/night if they stay long enough when the offer is available (most of the time).

Actually, it's for a 6-night stay, so they probably did the math OK (89,639 times 6 nights equals 537,834. Subtract the points I already have in my account and you have a deficit of 417,654 points.) What I hope is that anyone who looks at such a calculation would just pay the $239 a night ($1434 for the stay), rather than coughing up 537,834 points! (Or, even worse, rather than paying $11,000 to get enough points to pay for a $1400 stay.)
