Dublin, the capital of Ireland has 3 Hilton branded properties plus the Conrad. - Hilton Dublin Airport - Hilton Dublin - Hilton Dublin // Kilmainham - Conrad Dublin We have stayed the weekend at the Hilton Dublin Kilmainham in Dublin 8 south of the city near the Heuston Train Station. Great access to the IMMA, the Irish Museum of Modern Art and the Kilmainham Goal, a former prison, this two within 5 minutes walking distance opposite the hotel. Arrival: We came with taxi and checked in only to discover our room, a King Hilton Studio Suite was not yet ready, after around 35 minutes of waiting we had our keys. The Suite: Technically not a suite, but a large room called Studio with great king size bed, slippers, bathrobes for two, a really nice touch. Separate lounge area with comfortable sofa seats and coffee table, LCD TV with many channels incl. BBC World and local Irish TV. Internet access was complimentary, fast downloads but not good for uploads however, as one of us found out rather too soon. We also had some pre-ordered strawberries with chocolate coating and free bottles of Hilton branded mineral waters // still and sparkling. The layout of the studio was very comfortable, warm and indeed inviting. The bed was the centerpiece and we enjoyed it rather much, not too hard, not too soft, just very inviting with high quality linen and superb pillows. There was also access to a shared balcony but a key should be given from reception beforehand, due to heavy rain we never bothered, the balcony itself has no roof, so we watched the beautiful views over the Kilmainham Goal and Wicklow mountains through the floor to ceiling glass windows. Nevertheless, very attractive in all aspects. One thing to be aware of is that the hotel does not offer a fully stocked mini-bar only an empty fridge with the notice when we wished drinks we should call room service. The bathroom had a superb lay-out too, loved the separate shower and comfortable bathtub and the very stylish sink and mirrors, we had Crabtree and Evelyn amenities, large sizes and everything was provided twice. Superb towels, very crisp were in big supplies and everything was clean and in working order. The only thing was the hot // cold changer on the bathtub, it was a bit hard to change between the temperatures, not a big problem however when we gave it a push into the right direction. Eat and Drink: The 4 Corners Bar on Ground Level is relaxing and was almost always very full and good visited. Great atmosphere, had some cocktails and drinks there, excellent and good value incl. specials for cocktails and beers. The cajun chicken panini was delicious. In the evening we had our Dinner in the Cinnamon restaurant which is connected to the 4 Corners Bar, but had a separate entrance from the lobby, we were met by a large travel group from Italy. Our Dinner was included in the rate and it was very good, incl. the Salmon we had, highly recommended and great value. Breakfast in the morning was a more basic affair and could be improved there were eggs, cheese, jam, ham, sausages and so on plus juices. The presentation and overall choice could be better. Our breakfast was also included in our rate. Club Lounge: None // Note: No Hilton property in Dublin offers a dedicated Club Lounge. Plus: Our Studio Suite was beautiful, our dinner was superb and the value overall was really great and this Hilton would be recommended when in Dublin. Friendliness encountered at all times. Minus: Room Service was always engaged and unreachable, had to call the lobby or restaurant directly. Old In-room Dinning menu was on our table, had to be changed. The location makes it almost unavoidable to use taxi when visiting the City Centre of Dublin // Taxi cost around 10 Euro // 13 US Dollars. Breakfast should be improved in terms of choice // quality // presentation. Our rate: We had a great offer booked through Hilton.com which included the Studio Suite, Breakfast and Dinner. We have also taken up the offer for a late check-out which we had pre-orderd for 6PM for an additional 40 Euros // 55 US Dollars. Great value, seeing we had 6 hours more time to spend in our Studio Suite here, which we really liked. Here are a photo taken by us during our stay of the fantastic bed of the King Hilton Studio Suite: [ This photo is also posted in our Flickr account // Link below the photos ] Modern Hospitality // Beautiful ambiance // Grand Location // King Hilton Studio Suite with Balcony @ The Hilton Hotel Dublin Kilmainham // Dublin // Republic of Ireland // Embrace Beauty! by UggBoy♥UggGirl [ PHOTO // WORLD // TRAVEL ], on Flickr Overall: Will gladly stay again in this Hilton, it must be said, we have stayed by now in all 4 Hilton Family offerings in Dublin, and consistently they are very very good indeed. Would not hesitate to recommend all the offerings by Hilton in the Irish capital. From efficient and friendly service, to well furnished and designed rooms // suites, great food and drink offerings and a superb value ratio standpoint, they are highly recommended. Hope it helps? Cheers!
