I'll be staying at Basel Hilton in December for 3 days before leaving on a river cruise. I would like to hear any comments regarding this hotel. Also, would like to know best way to get from airport to hotel. Any other points appreciated. Thanks.

Basic and somewhat un-impressive property, rooms were just fine .. no executive lounge. Best thing it has going for it is its very close to the main train station and just about every tram line in the city terminates/connects in the adjacent square. Basel is a nice city however.

When we last visted we arrived by train but I believe there is a bus running from the airport to the above mentioned train station

Actually, there is an OK executive lounge on the 8th floor.
I used it every morning, and while not amazing, it's kinda standard european lounges.
Agree with everything else- clean, nice and un-impressive.
Pool is kinda nice, but small.
use tram lines 1,2, 8,11right out side the hotel to go almost anywhere.

Enjoy! basel is a great little city.

    P.S

Don't miss Bar Rouge, for an amazing and breath-taking views...
