Southwest is kicking UA and AAs butt in the midwest market. The first flight on AA/UA from Chicago to Omaha these days is at 830AM/10AM. AA only flies RJs, UA has a couple of mainlines a day. Same goes for STL which is an only RJ destination for UA, while AA keeps bigger planes.

Now MSP is the next victim with Southwest attacking that market. The first AA flight used to be an MD80, now a CRj700. United has cut from 757s to E170s, some mainline remains for both.

Don't see how MCI would be any different
