Hey guys. Just planned a trip out to me and according to both myself and the UA agent I spoke with this should be valid. However, at first they had an issue getting a pricing and now it's showing up as a 80K itinerary instead of the 60K roundtrip US - Central America in J that it should be. Any idea what could be wrong?

Sorry about the editing. If someone knows a better way please let me know! Thanks in advance!

That does no look like a straight USA-CentAm round trip. It seems that there might be more stopovers than allowed, requiring the itinerary to be split into at least 2 PNRs to be able to ticket it.

It might be helpfu if you simplified things at bit by providing just the bare minimum to show only the 'skeleton' of you trip, with your planned stopovers...

It is a R/T JFK-SJO with a stopover in RTB. Maybe one of the 22 hour connections in PTY is confusing things but that should be OK, too.

In the itinerary pasted in above the PTY-SAL segment says it is on Monday, December 16. But the 16th is a Tuesday (I fixed it in that bit I parsed out below). With the flight up from SJO on the 15th I'm pretty sure it is OK but perhaps the system is not seeing it properly so it is charging you with an extra stopover there??

Hey WA you're right. Either way I'm not sure whether RTB or SJO would count as the stopover but there's only. I was thinking SJO would be the stopover to RTB but either way all the other stuff are just <24 hour connections...what am I not seeing here???

It may not be what you are not seeing. It is probably what the computer "thinks" it is seeing, because some of the connections/layovers may appear to it as stopovers, since they are very close to 24h. This is where human intervention may be very helpful. Good luck!

that being said...we are in agreement that based on our understanding on UA routing rules this should be legal yes?

You cut it close a couple of times (I'd initially looked at the dates but not closely at the flight times and thought you had too many stopovers), but it all seems legal. The computer may not know this but an agent should...

I believe the routing is valid, pending fixing the Monday/Tuesday confusion.

is it possible due to the fact it would transit through pty twice? would this be an issue?

I spoke with them last night while mileage plus was closed but both agents said it was okay. Just got off the phone w/ their singapore desk and he also said it should be fine. No one knows why this isn't working. Said he's submit to a supervisor and return a call to me.

That should not be an issue.
