Hi All I've been planning to do a ~2 week trip w/the Fiance(maybe wife when this occurs) through East EU and wanted to know anyone had some ideas or tips help us. We want to use our AA miles to get into/out of Europe and want to avoid BA since their fuel surcharges are outrageous.

Our list of places we want to hit up are the following.
    • Dresden
    • Prague
    • Vienna
    • Budapest
    • Krakow
Seeing that I think our best bet is to use FinAir and go through Helsinki to get to Berlin; then take a train to Dresden. Leaving seems that airBerlin through Berlin again is the best route. But we are up for suggestions.
Also any suggestions on how to get from city to city would be very helpful.

Vienna is served by IB and AB, so you can also leave from there. There's good bus and train service between Budapest and Vienna, with the intercity bus stop right at the VIE airport.

Not as much. I believe the IB surcharges from VIE to US East Coast should be in the $100-200 range, while BA are $400-500.
