A few weeks ago the google translate app included Thai as one of the spoken languages. The same app on my android tablet doesn't have the speaker icon. I've deleted and reloaded it (there was no update option) and it still doesn't work. Any ideas?

Do you need to install Thai for your text to speech?

no there are drop down menus for the languages - thai is there but produces the translation in Thai charcters (often without a transliteration). If it can be spoken there is a speaker icon you hit to hear the translation

Anyone? It just makes no sense to me that google would make a better app for the ipad than for android
