    Hi,

I'm planning a trip to Israel this summer for myself and my family (3 people). I have 300,000 Amex Points and am planning to take El Al to Israel from LAX (transferring some of my points to Matmid points). However, I really wanted to stop over in Itanbul on the way back for a day. I thought to take Turkish Airlines from Tel Aviv with a stop over for a day in Istanbul but can't find a way to do this using my points (newbie me). Anyone have any helpful suggestions?

AmEx points can transfer to ANA, Aeroplan or Singapore Airlines for redemption on Star Alliance partners, including Turkish. ANA doesn't really allow one-way awards so skip them. Aeroplan and Singapore Airlines should be possible, though you'll need to figure out the other fees and such to make the best choice in terms of where to transfer the points to make the booking.

You get up to 24 hours on a connection so you will need to find award seats which can make that work with your schedule.
