A Secret Santa is already hard at work at Heathrow Airport, where he's busy handing out gifts including iPads, designer watchers and Hamleys teddy bears to random travellers.

A statement from Heathrow Airport reads: "Santa's arrival marks the beginning of 24 days of unexpected surprises for the lucky 4.3million passengers travelling through Heathrow, making their journey even more memorable."

Six lucky passengers, chosen at random, have already been treated to iPads, so that they can keep in touch with their loved ones when they are away. Other giveaways include 'his and hers' designer watches from Watches of Switzerland, worth £5,000, and Oakley winter survival kits for those going skiing.

Other brands included in the 24 days of Christmas giveaway include Jimmy Choo, Ted Baker, Sunglasses Hut, Hackett and Caviar House.

Clues to the identity of the daily surprises will be posted on Heathrow's Secret Santa Facebook page, in what is the airport's most elaborate festive event to date.

Friday, December 21 is expected to see the most departures from Heathrow, as 105,000 people make their festive getaway.

This might be more impressive if I didn't avoid the airport b/c the taxes they charge could buy me an ipad!
