We've found we like other condo locations better on Maui...it's VERY crowded at Kaanapali (at least for our tastes)

Thanks for the feedback! It's been a few years since visiting Maui, and stayed in Kihei at that time. IIRC, the traffic jams driving to Lahaina back then were world-class! :(

Getting up to Lahaina can be a pain but once we're up there we have little need to leave. This past July there was a terrible accident blocking both directions, a few at a time were getting through on the shoulder but alternated directions. We were lucky to be near the front of it all, if one could be lucky in such a terrible mess, and made it through in about 20 min. Traffic aside the sheer number of people strolling Kaanapali beach made it less enjoyable for us, we love further up in Kapalua.

If you're in the mood for a spa day check out the Spa Montage...it's fantastic and secluded. Even without purchasing any spa services I'd think it's worth it to get in and enjoy the small pool. Plus it makes for a quiet day on your last day, plus a place to shower and clean up. It's adults only.
