Pardon my ignorance if this is normal - I don't fly a lot of domestic widebody aircraft. But, is there any significance to a large block of econ+ seats that are greyed out (not just occupied) on this seat map?

FWIW, this is a swap for an ex-787 flight out of LAX.

Probably either sold out or reserved for elites.

Based strictly on the seat map, the unavailability of E+ makes sense.

That's a 767-200 that does not have E+ because they were due to retire from the fleet as the 787 came on line. Since that has been delayed, they continue to fly in order to meet the schedule. The only seats with extra legroom are the bulkheads.

Hmm...so these greyed out seats don't exist?

No, they exist, but they are no different than any other Y seat. It's a leftover feature from Continental wherein the front section of Y was blocked out for elites. The seats were not E+ like legacy United. Most former CO aircraft now have E+, but the 762 was scheduled to leave the fleet so they decided not to spend the time or money to make the conversion.
