If you have a bit of a layover at LAX, or love Greek food, consider trying Aliki's Greek Taverna. I often stay at the Renaissance Los Angeles Airport Hotel for business and it's near by. I've spent a lot of time in Greece and this is one of the few places in the U.S. where I felt like I was back there. The atmosphere is lacking but the food is great. It's traditional homestyle cooking. Some of my favorite appetizers are the octopus, lemon potatoes, gigandes(beans), and keftedes(meatballs) but they are all good. The mousaka is great and so are the lamp chops(paidakia). The Greeks tend to serve lamp chops well done, so if you like them rare or medium rare let them know. It's a 5 minute cab ride from the airport or if you have time you can take the shuttle to the Renaissance Hotel and it's a 5 minute walk. I've walked it during the day, but would recommend a cab in the evening. Aliki's Greek Taverna 5682 Arbor Vitae St Los Angeles (Inglewood), CA (310)645-9555 Hours: Mon-Sat 11am - 10pm.
