Was at my local Costco and saw this bag for $189.99. Not sure if they sell this online but I only buy B&R bags and love them. Usual retail is well in excess of $300 so this is an unusually great deal.

    Thats where I got mine.

As each Costco stocks for their market each store has a different selection so not all Costco locations sell B&R bags.

I have a discount where I usually get 30-40% off any full price bag from B&R but even I had to do a double take because even my pricing for a domestic carry on roller bag is $50-80 more than this price at Costco.

Lucky you with that discount. Next thing for me is a B+R Briefcase.

You can't go wrong w/ B&R. We have 6 pieces in our collection (a rolling briefcase, a medium backpack, 20" roller, 22" roller, 24" roller and 26" roller all expandable) and we've been happy with them all. Even when they become damaged from all the travel that we do, we have a repair facility nearby that takes care of everything.

I don't see the point in paying even more for Tumi and I don't see the point in saving money on luggage to only buy them over and over again as they keep breaking (I have been experienced that already). The only thing I would consider outside of B&R would be Travelpro.

I don't know much about Kirkland bags so I won't comment but I personally like the fact that with B&R, the handle is on the outside so the internals of the bag allow for flat packing vs. the two ridges that run through the middle of most roller bags.

I know some would argue that you actually get more packing space with ridges running through the bag and that you can make it flat by packing socks / underwear but I find that difficult to do and inconvenient since I tend to hop hotels frequently as part of my miles/points strategy.

My understanding is that B&R also gets its reputation for the warranty, which is not matched by very many other brands. Kirkland, in effect, has a similar type of warranty through Costco. Obviously, the variety of luggage is far lower.

I found B&R very heavy. What with 50 pound limits on some flights I hate wasting well over 10 to the bag. I know they outlast my light weight bags, but I'll take that trade-off. and go with light weight bags.

That's a fair point.... especially when you are flying the budget airlines in Asia which have 7 or 8 kg weight limits on carry ons. Definitely not perfect for everyone but for anyone looking for a B&R, this is the cheapest that I've seen them for sale at for the standard black color. They often have equivalent sales on other colors (like chocolate or olive) which aren't as popular but never this good for black.
