Received a letter from Chase today thanking me for being a loyal customer and to show our appreciation we are going to change your Chase Sapphire Preferred MasterCard to a Visa Signature. It will have the chip and signature feature but I wanted to have a World MasterCard its benefits since I already have enough Visa Signature cards.

Any recommendations for getting a World/World Elite MasterCard?

That's not a good news at all. I haven't converted my MC to visa for the exact same reason and now afraid they will just convert it automatically :(

Barclay Arrival, or IHG if you want to stick with Chase. The Arrival has a chip on it too.
What's better about World Elite MC vs. Visa Signature?

WE mastercard usually has better rental coverage in countries that visa sig excludes like AU, NZ, Ireland, Jamaica, and or Israel.

There are some events (e.g. South Beach Wine and Food Fest ) I've attended which MasterCard sponsors and you can get discounted tickets. There are some different hotels/resorts that are offered with extra amenities.

Thanks, I'll research the Barclay Arrival.

I sent some feedback to Chase. I told them they could make it up to me by adding all the features (category spend and 10% annual UR bonus) from the Freedom so I can reduce my cards by one. I told them if that can't be done, then to offer the Sapphire Preferred as a Visa Infinite. I don't think there is one offered by anyone in the U.S. currently.

Remember you need CSP, or INK to move miles, from program to airlines.

I have the Arrival card, and the ING,

ING is a keeper & $49,00 a year renewal with a free night..

Arrival.$400.00 sign up, but too early to call a keeper.

    Good Luck.

Freakin Catalina Wine Mixer. Sorry I couldn't help it.
I agree I enjoy both Visa and MC products but I like to keep them on what cards I want. I'm sure Visa is paying for some of this to Chase for sure. It's like the Bizarro world of the credit card game where on the other side Visa, MC, etc. pay them

The Citi AA Exec is a World Elite MasterCard. Bad timing for an answer I know, but just a reminder.

So did I, but seeing as it was in this board, I thought it had to be on-topic.

O.T: I guess it's not good news but there's not much you can do and to answer you question - I've sadly had no experience with that.

Ameriprise World Elite M/C. 1 1/2 % back (indirectly) on all spend; usual W/E benefits. Not cheap w/o brokerage, savings etc., but if its what you want...
