Hi, I did search, but didn't see this exact question. If I am Gold, and have a different PNR from my companion on the flight...if we link the PNRs, will the companion then be treated as if we are on the same itinerary? We would prefer to be in the exit row... :)

In the past if all I wanted to do was select exit rows/preferred seats, I've just called in and asked them to assign the seat next to me to my companion.

When I was gold and wanted to travel with a non-status friend I called customer service to "link" our pnrs. They said that they could note it, but not link it, however they did put my friend in an exit row next to me manually and it all worked out.

I'm fairly new at Gold (don't have number memorized) - left my card at home. Can someone PM me the number? I don't want to wait until I get home from work to call.

You can just call the normal number too though. AA gives out GLD/PLT numbers but they both go to the same reps. Your status just allows you to jump the queue. EXP is the only AA status with a real dedicated desk of agents.
