Im looking at 5-6 stays in the next 15 days and am wondering if there is anything like a Platinum Challenge but to achieve Gold Status. I dont have a schedule that will allow me to even hint at getting close to the stays needed for the Plat. Challenge... hence my question.

    Thanks.

Preferred Plus would be the next best thing.

Too bad you did not get the SPG Amex before your trip then you would have Gold for the 1st year and would be earning more points on your stays.

I am already a Preferred Plus.... somehow Ive never been downgraded to the regular status, the lowest I went was PPlus.... dont know why this, perhaps due to my previous 4 years of Elite Status...?

I thought about this also.... but while I do have a SSN and a real US address (work related), I no longer reside in the USA nor do I have a stable income stream in the USA.... havent had US credit cards for a little over 8 years now, I wonder if I could still apply for a card and get one issued...?

Not likely. More likely you are Preferred Plus by association with one of our marketing partners...SPG AMEX card, AAA, AARP, etc. Or, you might have a business account with us.

I think Preferred Plus is a status you never lose. I got the status for being a member of an auto club. When they set me up, they said there is no expiration. So I guess you have it for as long as your account remains open.
