Nothing else to say.
Where did you see this?
Is there a code or something?
Good only on Delta or on all airlines (granted, I have the all-airline pass, but still good since I'll be on AS and US more than DL next month).
Do we just get on board and open our browser or is there something else that is necessary?
I have no details. It was a Flight Attendant announcement yesterday.
I wonder if they've figured out a way to give priority to paid users. Around the holidays there were lots of problems caused by too many passengers trying to use the system. If there's no code but just an announcement that it's free for everyone, those with paid subscriptions could be seriously annoyed.
Agree completely. Paid users should not have to worry about getting kicked off - limit the amount of connections to maybe 50 pax, but paid users don't get bounced off the service; freebies have to re-login at intervals would be a start.
Too bad I won't be flying DL much (if at all) in August....
Any more info on this?
They actually did start this during the promotion last year. Paid customers with a pass had a link to log in and not get booted. Everyone else would get booted once it hit 50 and then you had to log back in.
This is indeed a current promotion. We'll post the full details in a moment in the Gogo forum.
The promotion is allowing 30 minutes free Gogo access. You can select the Diet Coke banner on the Gogo page to get connected.
Will you be able to keep getting 30 minutes at a time?
To clarify - during the initial period of this promotion, there is no time limit on the complimentary connection.
I'll be on a few Delta flights in august. Is this promotion for 30 minutes per flight - or a one-time use?
When does the initial period expire?
This works out very well for me -- the only two flights I will be taking in the US this year are both in August.
I am using my paid GoGo account now and I have to admit, it seems slower than usual.
In fairness to GoGo, the speed thing might have been a very short term problem. It seems OK now.
Do regional jets have GoGo capability?
I think it's starting to be installed in the larger ones. If you book on delta.dumb, you can look for the GoGo symbol, although with aircraft changes, there are no guarantees.
Not on the 700/900's that I've been on. As a side note, in the past if you are using your IPass account, you are lumped in with all the "free" people and can have trouble accessing it.
