    Oh chicken rice! *salivating* :D
Brings back fond memories from my childhood living in Singapore. Where did you go to get it?
I just started with MP and all of this FF fun so I could get back to Singapore - dearly miss it.

I am not good in memorizing the names. The first dish I think it was pork. The second one was shrimp or squids.

For the food and dessert above, we had them somewhere near Intercontinental Hotel. The mango pomello was excellent.
For chicken rice, I know every one has its own favorite. If I have more than 2 hours connection at Changi, many times I clear immigration and go to T3 basement for chicken rice and other local dishes. :)

I'm head to Singapore in July, so I'm looking forward to some of the posts in this thread.

Just a suggestion: the names of the food and descriptions would be very helpful! :D

I will try to edit the name when I remember as well as the location. :)

I was staying at the Intercontinental Hotel at that time. I think from the main driveway of the hotel, we turn left towards the intersection. Cross the street and turn left. The first small street turn right. The dessert place is Ah Chew I think.

When I go to Singapore I usually pick up a copy of the Makansutra Food Guide, they also have a good website with recommendations of where the best food can be found.

Well I understand that a guide book is very helpful. But IMHO, the recommendation from fellow travelers are the most helpful. For example, I remember trying a restaurant based on guide book, it was not satisfactory. It's really a personal taste. People raves about the restaurant on top of the building in Bangkok. We went there, but the food was not good IMHO. Or else many suggests a certain hawker center in Singapore. But for me, the other hawker center where my Singaporean friends take me are much better. :)

One of my Singaporean friends put me onto the book, it seems the locals use it as well. :)

Lots of Singapore food porn in my recent trip report (in trip reports forum), there's certainly some great food there both at the lower end (Hawker stalls) and at the high end (fine dining). It's hard to imagine a place with so much great food :)

For concentration of great hawker stalls, I like the Old Airport Rd food center. But it's really bustling, lots of lines. For a more leisurely time in a nicer setting, there's East Coast Lagoon Food Village...

And I really did have one of my very best meals, anywhere ever, at Waku Ghin - Tetsuya's new place at the Marina Bay Sands. Very pricey yet soooo worth it! :D

Singapore is one of my favorite dining destinations in the world. Love the food there.

At the high-end, we very much enjoyed Iggy's, in the Regent.

For regular fare, chili crab and chicken rice are definitely must try dishes. For chili crab, I like No Signboard, which has branches in a couple of places around town. For chicken rice, I like Tien Tien at the Maxwell Road Food Center.

Iggy's is no longer in the Regent, it's now in the Hilton on Orchard Road. Food was good there when I went mid-February, but service wound up a disaster. :(

I love the paper chicken at Hillman Restaurant :)
The chicken juices spill out of the paper package and into the rice making this simple dish unforgettable!!

Don't forget too the chili crab at No Signboard!

I the past, I had some impressive meals at Ja'an, at the top of the hotel that IIRC isn't the Fairmont in Raffles Center. Of course, it's most impressive on clear day, especially if you go early enough to see the view in daytime and then the sunset and the lights at night.

OMG, all the dishes were what I had in SIN when I was there in February. How coincidentally funny!
