Why SQ doesn't offer this anymore?
Satay is one unique feature aboard SQ for years. It does make me feel at home when I am flying Singapore Airlines.
I love when they offer me extra skewers of the satay, IME most of the time when the cabin is pretty empty. Even the aroma tells me I'm on SQ, not that I could otherwise forget.
Eek. Hanagoyomi is a major reason I fly SQ to Japan as opposed to other airline choices.
I agree. Unfortunately satay was only offered on 2 of my last 4 SQ longhaul flights.
Yes. Hanagoyomi was one of the best choices at that time. It was always tastier than kyo kaiseki from my experience.
I don't remember exactly when, but there was a modification on satay serving. So now not all long haul will have satay. Hope SQ listens to us here, and bring back satay to all long haul flights!
The flights with supper meal did not have satay. One was a red eye so I could understand a shortened service, but the other departed mid evening. I noticed the latter (mid evening departure) also had no desert, no pralines, and one less main choice than normal.
Yup. I myself don't understand how those flyers had in mind when giving feedback to SQ regarding meal service.
I think the change was around last fall, maybe about September 2010 more or less, or perhaps between March and August. I'm trying to remember when my first flight was after the cutback.
Satay and Internet Connection On-board
I miss having birthday or special occasion aboard SQ. And FRA has the best cake I had!
Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary on LHR-SIN in 2007
I met this couple from Nottingham from TOBB. They were going to celebrate their wedding anniversary in Thailand via SIN on SQ. I found out they would depart from LHR around my b'day. I scheduled my flight to meet this couple. SQ was very generous in letting them to wait for me ( I was flying JFK-FRA-LHR-SIN) at SKL F at LHR. They were in Y-cabin. And we celebrated my b'day and their anniversary in the galley F cabin.
Thank you, SQ!
Doo Doo Noodles - Rice Vermicelli and Fish Balls
Great for mid-flight snack and for jet lag cure.
Does the internet connection taste good?
Do the German words taste better?
Wow, I'm so impressed (and surprised) that SQ let them walk through J/C to the FC galley.
It looks good, including the presentation, but I find the name of this dish alarming.
Taste good with what you are doing with the internet connection.
Hmm "A Fish Called Wanda" scene # ...
It was the name of the company which provided the dish! But I think it changed to another company last year or two years ago.
I've never yet seen a special cake on SQ and unfortunately I've never (yet) flown them on my birthday.
It's logical though. It's better for the Y pax to meet the F pax in F cabin/galley, rather than the F pax visit the Y galley.
Here is for you MSPeconomist. An example of a God-Like Treatment from SQ crew which I had experienced. And indeed it's so delicious.
This was caviar, but not FC? How can that be? Is the blue tablecloth business class or coach? And where does the blue-rimmed plate belong? I'm confused.
This was from couple years ago before SQ uniformly changed the F servewares. I was in Y. The F plate has blue trim. You see the F logo above the green caviar condiments.
Now I can see it, since you told me where to look, but I tend to think more of their next-generation FC tableware.
